Hello, I’m Laura Cooper, Kelli’s matron of honor.
I have known Kelli for a little over 20 years. We went to the same elementary school, were on the same soccer team for years. We went to the same Jr High School, the same high school; the same college: (Go COUGS!). We also pledged the same college sorority, Pi Beta Phi.
Kelli’s and my friendship has grown closer over the years. As a kid I remember always wanting to play with Kelli. Especially at HER house. She had two things I didn't have. A HUGE Barbie Dream House AND a little brother.
Kelli and I liked playing our own made up game called Pilgrims. We insisted that Jeff play too. Not sure if Jeff had a good time, but Kelli and I did. The best part was being able to boss Jeff around. Yes we were bossy, but like I said, I didn't have a little brother at the time, so I took Jeff on as mine and followed Kelli's example of how to be a big sister.
The Matthews are my second family. Lisa, Kelli's mom was our soccer coach for years. She treated each of us as if we were her own. So, basically Lisa had 17 teenage daughters at once! Now THAT is a tough JOB. Thank you Kelli for sharing your Mom with me and the team. And thank YOU Lisa for all you have done. Especially for helping me make the decision to be a Coug and not a Husky!
Kelli and I are more than friends; we are sisters in every sense of the word. We have always been there for each other, both in the good times and during darkest hours of our lives. I know that Kelli's father and Grandmother are watching over her today with pride of the woman she has become.
I know that Kelli will always be there for Ryan, in both the good times, and the tough times. I believe that Kelli and Ryan make a great couple, and will have a long and meaningful marriage (maybe some kids too!).
I have never seen Kelli so happy as when she is with you, Ryan. You truly are the love of her life.
Ryan, you better take care of her - she means the world to me. Keep her happy, make her laugh.
Love her, always and forever. Enjoy the good and the bad, and be happy that you two will always have each other close by.
To conclude, I came across a quote that I would like to share with you. I particularly like this quote, Kelli, as it applies to you and Ryan as a couple but it also equally applies to you and I as friends. "As you sit side by side through this roller coaster of life remember to scream from the peaks, hold hands through the dips, laugh through the loop-the-loops and enjoy every twist and turn for the ride is better because you share it together." Coming together is the beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.
I hope that God will bless your marriage all the days of your lives and that those days will be spent in perfect happiness together. To Kelli and Ryan "May your joy last forever."
